Maybe God wants You to Trust Him more and worry less!

As we look into Bible history, we will see that The Bible is full of people of faith that received the promise of God without seeing that promise right then — people who had to contend with  The devil and Then remember that he is a liar and he will fill your mind up with doubt about God and what He said He will do and fill your mind with thoughts of what God is not doing and how your prayers are not working.  In fact, Jesus himself said that Satan is the father of lies (St. John 8:44b); and it is his job to cause us to doubt what God has said. He’s been doing that ever since the beginning of time.

If you remember, that’s exactly what he did to Adam and Eve. God made Adam from the dust of the ground, but said it is not good for man to be alone and so made Eve. He commanded the man before he made Eve saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” But the serpent told Eve you shall not die. For God knows that in the day that you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” The serpent persuaded Eve to doubt God, so she ate and gave to Adam and he ate and both of their eyes came open and sin entered the world, according to Genesis chapter 3.

Satan wants to plant that seed of doubt in our minds today. He will tell us that God is not going to do what he said he would do. Has anybody had to battle the spirit of doubt? Have you ever prayed about something or are you praying about something right now and you know that prayer will work? You know that “the prayers of the righteous availeth much,” according to James chapter 5 verse 16b, but Satan will speak to your mind and say God is not going to do it!

Has anyone ever experienced that? He’ll show you how things have not changed since you prayed and he’ll tell you that things are not going to change! He plants the seed and then we begin to doubt God! Satan has you more focused on what you see rather than what you are praying for or what you are believing God for. You don’t have to tell us that you are frustrated because prayers, it seems, has not changed your situations, but perhaps during this idle time when nothing seems to be changing or happening in your life, God wants you to trust Him more and worry less!

Sometimes when you are praying for things to get better, instead of them getting better, it seems they start to get worse! Has this ever happened to you? If it has this has happened to you, this is when the devil will find a way into your life and start up with his nasty low down tricks. He will start to whisper in your ears, “See there! Nothing is changing! You might as well give up! Quit! Walk away! Don’t come back to church anymore! Give up on God!” When the devil starts to do this, instead of giving in to his tricks, scams and schemes, this is not the time to give in or give up! What you need to do is reach up to God and ask Him for help, reach up to God and ask Him to begin to build your faith as you wait on Him as He works. If you don’t have enough of God’s word in you, or if your faith in God is insufficient, the devil will win the battle and get you to go off course with God and when you do that, you’ll abort what God wants to do next in your life. Do you want to forfeit what God has for you by giving in to the devil’s tricks and schemes of doubt and depression?

We encourage you not to fall for the bait of the devil, don’t give in to discouragement and situations that appear to have not been changed. Prayer does make a difference and it does work, keep praying. God is working. He’s changing things. He’s moving. He’s speaking and He’s recreating. You have to be patient, have faith and wait on Him as He works. Trust Him. Don’t give up on God. His answers are often wiser than your prayer requests and oftentimes His answers are largely unrecognized. God wants you to trust Him, and worry less, for He didn’t bring you this far, just to leave you!
