Want to improve your life?Write Scriptures!
Often times when studying the Word of God, we quickly read over the verses. We get a general understanding of the verses and may spend a few moments thinking about them. But shouldn’t studying the Word of God be more than JUST that? Writing out Scriptures can help YOU deepen the time YOU spend in the Word and give YOU a better understanding of it.
Writing Helps Us See All The Words
When you write or type out a verse, you discover words which you otherwise might have missed. Therefore, we suggest you write verses which YOU know are key truths for YOUR life. We suggest you add them to your prayer time and pray the scriptures, diagram them, analyze them, and meditate on them so that you can bring transformation to your life in positive ways! Also write the scriptures so you can can learn more about God’s word, more about God and more about how God desires to work in and through your life ! You will see truths in God’s word that you never saw before!
Writing the scriptures also helps you understand in YOUR own words and in a framework which is meaningful for YOU. The following is the law which God gave for new kings who had just been crowned and were coming to sit upon their throne for the first time: Now it shall come about when he sits on the throne of his kingdom, he shall write for himself a copy of this law on a scroll in the presence of the Levitical priests (Deut. 17:18).
Since we are kings and priests, are we to do any less (I Pet 2:9)? Let us make the writing out of Scriptures an important part of our lives.
Writing Helps Us Remember
In addition to revealing words we may have otherwise missed, writing verses helps us to remember those verses. Multiple scientific studies over the years have shown that writing, in addition to reading and speaking, helps aid in memorization.
In Second Timothy we are told of the importance of memorizing the Scriptures:
But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 2:14-17)
The more we learn and memorize the Bible the more we understand the mind of God, the more we will understand God’s ways and how He desires to work in our lives! When you write scriptures and study them and claim them for your life, if what you are believing for and seeking God for is part of His plan for your life, the scriptures will strengthen you and give you faith and patience as you wait on God to work. It will also help you improve your relationship with God, and become equipped for the good work that God has for you and for the good work that God is preparing you for!
Writing Helps Us Understand And Express
We often have ideas and concepts that are underdeveloped. We think about them and have a general understanding of what we think, but if asked about the idea or philosophy, we cannot readily explain it to others. Writing the verses your own words will help you to understand what you are thinking and encourages you to express that understanding outside of yourself. By writing scriptures, we will all then be better able to express our ideas and understandings to others.
We will gain more if we write verses than if we simply read over them and walk away from them. We make sure we don’t miss anything when we take the time to write scriptures, we will better remember the verses, and then we are better able to explain them to others. So what are you waiting for? Go study the scriptures and write them daily so that you can begin to experience the wonder working power of God’s word to transform your life in each and every way! https://www.mystudybible.com/
