Feel stuck in the valley of “dry bones”? Trust God to help!

Dear friend,

God knows you’re weary. God knows you’re tired of feeling stuck in a place where nothing seems to change, where the weight of life presses so heavily on your chest that you wonder if you’ll ever catch your breath again. Maybe it feels like you’re in a valley of dry bones—barren, lifeless, and alone. You may find yourself in a season where everything feels heavy, where the trials of life have left you feeling stuck.
You might look around and see nothing but dry bones, failure, lack, division, and ruin. And it’s in this very place that the enemy sets up his snares, booby traps, and ambushes, hoping to ensnare your heart, to pull you into despair, failure, and suffering. The enemy loves to see you this way, because the enemy seeks to spoil your joy, Rob you of faith, and drain your energy because of your life’s circumstances.

But let us assure you—you are not alone.
God sees you. He knows your pain,
and He is ever-ready to intervene in your life to help.

Perhaps you’ve reached a point where your faith feels almost extinguished, your hope almost gone, and all your efforts to rise above the darkness have only left you feeling more stuck than before. You wonder, “Where is God in all of this? Does He even see my pain? Will He ever help me out of this mess?”

Let us speak to you from a place of truth, with deep love for your soul: God sees you. He hears your cries. And He will help you, even when it seems like there’s no way forward. God will help you! You are not alone in your struggles. We know it’s hard to believe when things are at their lowest, but hear us when we say this: the God of miracles is working in the midst of your difficulties, even if you can’t see it right now.

Do you remember the story of the prophet Ezekiel, when God led him to the valley of dry bones? Ezekiel 37:1-2 says, “The hand of the Lord was on me, and he brought me out by the Spirit of the Lord and set me in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones. He led me back and forth among them, and I saw a great many bones on the floor of the valley, bones that were very dry.”

Imagine being Ezekiel, standing in the middle of a valley so desolate that the bones were very dry. There was no life, no hope, no movement. Just death. And yet, God asked him a profound question in verse 3: “Son of man, can these bones live?”

At that moment, Ezekiel’s faith must have felt like it was hanging by a thread. How could dry bones possibly live? But God’s response is both simple and profound: “I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life” (Ezekiel 37:5). God spoke life into what seemed impossible.

You, my friend, are not unlike those dry bones. Life, strength, and hope may seem long gone, but God has the power to breathe new life into every hopeless situation.

It’s true that the enemy loves to take advantage of your weariness. When you’re already struggling, it feels like he compounds your pain, laying traps that cause you to stumble even more. His aim is to steal your joy, kill your peace, and destroy your sense of purpose. He whispers lies into your mind, telling you that you’ll never get out of this place, that you are forgotten, or that your prayers are falling on deaf ears.

But hear this: the enemy’s schemes are nothing compared to the power of God. He may set up ambushes, but our God has already overcome the world (John 16:33). He promises that no weapon formed against you will prosper (Isaiah 54:17). The snares that the enemy sets will fall, because God has a plan to turn things around for you.

God Can Work in the Midst of YOUR Life’s Struggles!

You may be asking, “How can God work in circumstances like mine? How can He bring life where there seems to be none?”

God works in ways that are beyond our understanding. But one thing is certain: He is faithful. When things seem impossible, God has the power to do the impossible. When you’ve exhausted all your options and you feel like there’s no way out, that is precisely the moment when God can make a way.

Remember the story of Lazarus. In John 11, when Jesus arrived at the tomb of Lazarus, it seemed too late. Lazarus had been dead for four days, and his sisters Martha and Mary were grieving, wondering where Jesus had been. But Jesus, in His great love, called out to Lazarus, saying, “Lazarus, come out!” (John 11:43). And Lazarus walked out of the tomb—alive.

God has the power to resurrect what you thought was dead. He can bring life to your circumstances, your relationships, your dreams, your heart. There is no situation too far gone for God to redeem.

In times of hardship, when you feel like you’ve tried everything and nothing is working, it’s easy to lose hope. But we want to remind you of something: hope is not found in what we can do, but in what God can do. As Psalm 42:5 says, “Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.”

We know it feels heavy right now, but trust that God is at work, even when you can’t see it. And in this moment of uncertainty, God is inviting you to trust Him again. To lift your eyes from the valley of dry bones and place them on the One who can bring new life. Trust that God has not abandoned you. His promises remain true.

Your situation may seem impossible, but remember:

  • God has the power to breathe life into your dry bones.
  • He can turn your pain into purpose.
  • He can transform your suffering into strength.

God’s Promises;

Consider Romans 8:28, which says,
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him,
who have been called according to his purpose.”

This scripture reminds you that even in your most challenging moments,
God is at work for your good.
He is intricately weaving your story,
turning trials into testimony, and pain into perseverance.

You might feel weary from the wounds of life,
but this is not the end of your story.
The enemy may lay paths of despair,
but God will guide your feet upon the rock.

When the booby traps feel overwhelming,
remember to call upon God.
He is your shield and strong tower,
your ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).

As you walk through this season, shift your focus.
Rather than solely looking at the dry bones around you,
consider the ever-flowing grace of God.
He can bring forth an army where there seems to be nothing.
He can raise you up, giving you the strength to stand tall.

God knows your struggles, and He understands your heart.
With Him, there is always hope for a fresh start,
for renewal, restoration, and revitalization.

Let’s pause for a moment, and invite God to breathe new life into your circumstances.

Heavenly Father,

I come before You with a heart that is heavy, weary, and tired. Life has been hard, and I feel like I am stuck in a valley of dry bones, surrounded by the traps of the enemy. The pain is overwhelming, and my faith is dimming. But I remember that You are the God who brings life to what is dead. You are the God who spoke into the dry bones and made them live.

Father, I ask You to breathe life into my circumstances today. Revive what has been broken, restore what has been lost, and renew my hope in You. I trust that You are with me, even when I can’t see You, and that You are working behind the scenes to turn things around for my good.

I invite You into my heart and my circumstances. Let Your peace rule in my heart, and let Your power be made perfect in my weakness. I surrender all my struggles to You and choose to believe that You are the God of miracles, the God of the impossible.

Thank You for hearing my prayer. I choose to trust in Your timing and Your will. I know You are faithful, and I believe that You will do what You promised.

In Jesus’ mighty name, I pray,
Amen.

Dear one, we believe with all our heart that God will make a way for you. Don’t give up—your breakthrough is coming. Trust Him today.
