Get to know God! He is The Father Who Fights the Battles You Never Asked For!
You wake up, and before your feet even hit the floor, you feel it. It’s that heavy, sinking sensation in your chest that tells you the war is still on. You didn’t ask for this season. You didn’t sign up for a legal battle that’s draining your savings, or a “baby mama drama” situation that leaves your head spinning, or a chronic illness that makes every movement a chore. You certainly didn’t ask for a toxic workplace where you feel targeted the moment you walk through the door.
These aren’t the battles of your own making. These aren’t the results of bad choices you’re trying to fix. These are “forced battles”, the ones that find you when you’re just trying to live your life, raise your kids, and get by. When life feels like a constant siege, it’s easy to feel like you’re failing because you’re tired. But we want to tell you something very important today: your exhaustion isn’t a sign of weakness. It’s a sign that you’ve been carrying a sword that was never meant for your hands.
When Life Feels Like a Siege
There is a specific kind of weariness that comes from being blindsided. When you’re hit with an unexpected medical diagnosis, a sudden rise in rent while your wages stay the same, or a family member who seems dedicated to creating chaos, your nervous system stays on high alert. We see you trying to manage the unmanageable. We see you trying to be the peacemaker in a house full of fire.
The world tells us to “hustle harder” or “fight for what’s yours.” But what happens when you have nothing left to give? What happens when your resources are at zero and the enemy is still at the gates? This is where the strategy of Heaven differs from the strategy of the world. In the middle of the mess, God isn’t looking at you and asking why you aren’t fighting harder. He’s looking at you as a protective Father, waiting for you to step behind Him so He can take the lead.

The Myth of the Perfect Soldier
Many of us grew up believing that to be “strong in faith” means we have to be the ones swinging the sword 24/7. We think we have to find the solution to the legal drama, fix the crazy family dynamics, and somehow manifest money out of thin air to cover the inflation gap. We stay up late, eyes blurry from looking at bank statements or legal papers, thinking that if we just “figure it out,” the battle will end.
But let’s look at the truth: some battles are simply too big for human hands. When the Israelites stood at the Red Sea with an army behind them and an ocean in front of them, they didn’t need a better rowing strategy. They needed a miracle. And what did God tell them? He said, “The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still” (Exodus 14:14).
We often miss the miracle because we are too busy trying to be the hero. We are trying to control outcomes that are way beyond our capacity. True rest, the kind that refuels your soul even when the bills are still high, comes when we relinquish the right to control the situation. It’s about moving from a stance of “I have to fix this” to a stance of “God, this is where You step in.”
God as Your Personal Shield
In the ancient world, a shield wasn’t just a piece of metal; it was a mobile wall. When a soldier was too wounded to stand, his comrades would stand over him with their shields, creating a canopy of protection.
That is exactly what God does for us. When you are too exhausted to even lift your own sword, God steps in as your Shield. He isn’t just watching from a distance, cheering you on. He is standing in the gap between you and the “baby mama drama.” He is standing between you and the hostile boss. He is standing between you and the sickness that keeps trying to claim your future.
Faith is the bridge that allows us to trust that the Shield is actually there, even when we can’t see it. We need faith because it is the only thing that allows us to see the “impossible” as a playground for God’s power. Without faith, we see a low wage and high prices and we see a dead end. With faith, we see a God who fed five thousand people with a few fish and some bread, and we realize He can do the same for our bank accounts.

Reversing the Unfair Situations
One of the most amazing things about our Father is His ability to reverse what the world has declared final. You might be in a hostile environment right now where it feels like everyone is against you. You might be dealing with legal issues that seem unfair and rigged. It can feel like you’re trapped in a script you didn’t write.
But God is the ultimate Author. He specializes in reversing bad decisions and hostile circumstances. He can take a situation that was meant to destroy your reputation or your finances and turn it into a platform for His favor. We have seen Him open up new streams of income when a job was lost. We have seen Him bring peace to families that haven’t spoken in years.
Why is faith necessary here? Because faith is what keeps you from quitting five minutes before the miracle happens. Faith tells you that just because you don’t see a way out doesn’t mean God hasn’t already built a door.

How to Refuel Your Hope Today
If you’re reading this and you feel besieged, we want to give you a few simple, everyday tactics to help you shift the atmosphere:
- Acknowledge the Exhaustion: Stop pretending you’re okay. Tell God, “I am tired, and I cannot fight this battle anymore.” There is immense power in honesty.
- Stop the “What If” Cycles: When your mind starts racing about the “baby mama drama” or the workplace attacks, catch those thoughts. Replace “What if it goes wrong?” with “God is my Shield.”
- Give Up the Outcome: This is the hardest part. Tell God, “I don’t know how this ends, but I trust Your character more than I fear this situation.”
- Look for the Small Manna: God often provides for us daily rather than all at once. Look for the small ways He is showing up, a kind word from a stranger, a small unexpected discount, or a moment of physical strength.
You are not alone in this forced battle. The Father who sees the bottom of your bank account, the Father who hears the whispers behind your back at work, and the Father who knows the pain in your body is the same Father who is currently moving pieces on the board that you can’t even see yet.

Let’s Pray Together
We invite you to take a deep breath. Let go of the tension in your shoulders. You don’t have to carry the sword for the next few minutes. Let’s talk to the Father together.
“Heavenly Father, we come to You today on behalf of our friend who is just plain tired. They are fighting battles they never asked for, and the weight of it feels like it’s crushing their spirit. Lord, we specifically invite You into their legal situations, their family drama, their health struggles, and their financial worries.
Father, step in as the Shield. When they are too weak to stand, You be their strength. When they don’t have the words to pray, let Your Spirit groan on their behalf. We ask for a supernatural reversal of every hostile circumstance. Open up new streams of income, bring peace where there is chaos, and provide the resources they need to not just survive, but thrive. We trust that You are fighting for them even now. In Your powerful name, we believe for the impossible. Amen.”
A Word of Encouragement:
Friend, please don’t give up. The fact that the battle is this intense only proves that there is something incredibly valuable on the other side of your “yes” to God. You are seen, you are loved, and you are protected. You don’t have to be a perfect soldier; you just have to be a loved child. Let the Father take it from here.
